Failed emails/ failed workshops
It is evident that
AT LEAST 30% of my emails are not arriving, our numbers are dwindling and SV is
losing money
Whilst the Chris
Rowbury day was a great success for those who came, half (17) who said
they would come simply didn't. I expect a few people to drop out but the price
was set far too low for the number who came and a major loss was made (do the
sums!)
Drastic action is
necessary, starting with communication and individual emails to each member and
a complete overhaul of the membership list ( again)
Please don't send
apologies, excuses or explanations, I know there were some family
emergencies. Shared Voices needs your active support - and bring friends,
especially younger ones and help promote community singing. One more major loss
and SV will be bankrupt and will not continue. I am not bluffing - it's a lot
of work and time, if it is not what you want, I'll go and enjoy myself in other
choirs without any of the work, or go on holiday or promote my paid work.
Shared Voices has been one of the leading choirs of its kind in the UK with
some of the best National and International teachers at prices way below what
you would pay elsewhere - £35 for a day workshop is common
3 email
reminders were sent out for the Chris Rowbury day - did you get them?
Please
briefly answer these questions or I will have to phone you
1. Are you getting my SV bulk emails? ie 20-30 names in To
list
2. Do you want to stay on the mailing list?
3. Do you want SV to continue and in what form?
4. Realistically, will you be attending morning or whole day
workshops?
5. Are there any changes that could be made that would improve
turnout?
I am hoping the
problem is largely one of info not getting through

Chris Rowbury
Chris
is buying a house in Woodbridge, so look forward to lots of singing
opportunities for top quality workshops and a weekly choir. Anyone for a Men's
choir? He is suggesting a day workshop in Ipswich for Nov 13th
Autumn Winter Programme
As
much as I wish SV to continue, I will not be planning any more events until
effective communication and attendance levels are restored and I have a
reliable members list. So the sooner you respond and the more you come to the
workshops, the sooner I will start planning.
Also I
am taking a singing group of my friends to France 18-25 Sept and I need to
be planning that. I can fit in another two singers, let me know if you are
interested
